Gold Label

2007 Barossa Syrah

Wolf Blass Gold Label Syrah, a remarkable wine from the esteemed Barossa region, showcases a deep, inviting red color that captivates the eye. This vintage offers a full-bodied experience, presenting robust flavors with a profound complexity that elevates its character. The acidity is bright and lively, providing a refreshing contrast to the intense fruit-forward profile marked by ripe dark fruits, such as blackcurrants and plums. Tannins are notably structured, offering a firm backbone that enhances the wine's depth and aging potential. The dryness of this Syrah ensures a clean finish, making it a delightful pairing for rich dishes and an excellent choice for any wine enthusiast seeking to explore the richness of Australian wines.

Region:

Barossa

One of Australia's best-known wine regions, the Barossa Valley sits an hour north of Adelaide, where many of the country's most famous wineries are based. In this historic region, old bush vines—some dating back as far as 1860—produce full-bodied wines of dramatic depth and scope, principally from Shiraz, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon. But Shiraz is the region's most popular varietal, with "Barossa Shiraz" almost a recognized brand in its own right, due to its concentrated flavors of juicy black fruit, plush tannins and the sweet spice of American oak. But whites are equally classy here, too, with Barossa's fresh, unoaked Sémillons and always captivating lush Chardonnays.
